Due to the nature of our products and the variance in sizes and/or weights, orders will ship via either small package carrier (such as UPS or FedEx), or motor freight. Anvil American chooses the most economical and reasonable means for shipping all orders, and negotiates with several carriers to provide our customers with the best service and rates possible.

Most orders under 200# can ship via small package carriers, while orders in excess of 200# are usually shipped via motor freight. However, some products (such as stakes, SL151 and SL155) are frequently an exception due to their disproportionate length and/or weight.

Should you desire Anvil American to calculate freight charges using our preferred carriers prior to the shipment of your order, please specify during checkout under special instructions, and a representative will quote this information for you based on the order submitted. Quotes given by Anvil American will be the actual freight charged (should no changes be made to the order after the quote occurs).


In the event that you need to return an item, please note our return policy:

  • Please call 800-292-6845 and obtain an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. This number should be clearly marked on your shipping label, and is required for returns to be accepted).
  • Returns must be in their original packaging and in their original condition.
  • A copy of your packing list or invoice should be included.

Items needing to be returned due to an error by Anvil American (wrong item shipped, incorrect quantity, etc.) require an RMA number for return; further, when obtaining your RMA number, shipping instructions will also be provided to the customer to prevent the customer from incurring any shipping expense for the return. These instructions may include, but are not limited to, specification of carrier to be used for the pickup of the return, as well as our account number with that carrier. Credit will be issued to the customer upon Anvil American’s receipt and verification of the items returned. If necessary, upon issuance of the RMA number, the corrected item(s) will be shipped to the customer with no shipping charges.

Items returned due to customer error (incorrect item ordered, too many ordered, etc.) will incur a 15% restocking fee upon Anvil American’s receipt and verification of the return. The customer will also be responsible for arranging shipping for the return, and for any charges incurred as a result. Should the customer wish for Anvil American to arrange return shipping, said charges will be deducted from any credit issued upon receipt of the merchandise.
